Maps4FS can pregenerate a water surface and has a procedure on how to transform it in blender to make it usable ingame.
Creating your own splines in custom shapes
The editor has a function to generate a plane in the shape of a list of coordinates.
This should be wrapped in a tool. So you can draw a spline where the water flows. And it would generate the complete water surface.
For texturing the buildin ocean shader can be used.
The guide in the maps4fs documentation has working textures. They draw vector colors in blender. But should be possible in GE, and I don’t think we need the custom vector colors anyway.
There is another toolkit public available which configures the shader correctly. Might show what we are missing currently.
